January 2011

We are sitting here in Texas wishing we were in Mexico! Came home in November to make a few doctor's appointments and 2 months later, we are still waiting to get out of here! One thing after another..not ready to drop dead just yet but lots of tests later, we may be declared fit to travel!
The C hristmas season came and went with lots of family and friends visiting. Mary and family were stuck in New England because of snow and bad weather. All the flights were cancelled. We are hoping they will join us later in Feb. for some beach and Palapa Time.
Right now, looking thru our coach windows, our yard looks like the Yukon...snow covering our East Texas trees and big oaks still covered in leaves of brown and winter blotch. I have refilled the bird feeders and the hungry little finches, titmouses and cardinals all flock around.A few bluebirds are appearing now and then. They are eating the red holly berries. The squirrels are constantly plundering the feeders too. I have to keep watch or they will strip the seed within minutes. Over the weekend, we visited sister in Galveston. Ate lots of good seafood, toured the new buildings on Bolivar Penninsula, even attended the Houston Boad Show. Came home to snow and ice.
. We are biding our time until Feb 1st when we fly out and wing our way south to Mexico once again.
